AIR:
The pretty drive from Nimes Airport is just an hour away and you can stop to buy fruit, vegetables & bread
from stalls en route. The quickest way is Ryanair to Nimes from Luton/Liverpool, or JET2 from Edinburgh, Southampton
or Leeds/Bradford to Avignon and hire a car at the airport reserved before you leave. You can also fly to Montpellier,
Marseille with Ryanair, Air France & BA.
CAR:
If travelling by car, (recommended ferries to Calais, Dieppe, Le Havre, Caen
& Zeebrugge). In order to obtain a detailed route of your journey visit www.theaa.com (but from our experience best to avoid Paris). It is always a good idea to break your journey
overnight and such a pleasure in France! Try www.logis-de-france.com RAIL:
Eurostar from London to Avignon direct on Saturdays throughout the summer or with
a simple change in either Paris or Lille the rest of the year. You can also travel Motorail from Calais to Narbonne, Toulouse
and Avignon. Nimes is the nearest major railway station and you could hire a pre-booked car there.
BOAT:
If travelling with your car the shortest route is Dover to Calais but more exciting
is the longer route from Portsmouth to Le Havre or Caen, sleeping on the ferry.
